White House

Whitehouse is a resort village on the southwest coast of Jamaica, 65 km south of Montego Bay Airport and 159 km from Kingston. The southern coast of Jamaica is considered the purest corner of nature, almost untouched by civilization, since there are no large cities, industries, resort complexes. At the moment there is only one hotel on the territory of the resort – Sandals Whitehouse European Village & Spa 5 *, which was opened in 2005 and immediately gained fame as a “pearl in the south of Jamaica.” This is an ideal place for those who want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, spend their holidays in an atmosphere of complete tranquility on the beach with the purest white sand against the backdrop of perfect tropical landscapes.

MONTEGO BAY

Montego Bay resort is one of the most visited tourist centers in Jamaica and the second largest city on the island, located on the northwest coast of the island. Donald Sangster International Airport is located nearby. In the 17th century, the Spaniards settled here, who began to actively use the bay as a seaport, called Bahei de Montegoy. In 1655, Jamaica was occupied by the British Empire, and this place became the district of St. James, and the city of Montego Bay became the district capital. The county was turned into a duty-free zone and attracted the attention of the wealthy English nobility. Therefore, the resort is rich in various historical and cultural monuments, such as Rose Hall, once owned by Annie Palmer, known as the White Witch of Rose Hall, the first white woman who wielded voodoo magic.
Montego Bay is famous for its beautiful beaches. The most famous beach is Doctor’s Cave Beach. Dr. Alexander James McCuttai, after studying this place, declared its healing properties and began the creation of a sanatorium at his own expense. Very soon, numerous hotels began to spring up around the beach, which was accessed through a cave. Unfortunately, a hurricane in 1932 destroyed the cave.
The resort has a huge choice of hotels of various styles and categories, excellent restaurants and a lively nightlife, a chain of shops and magnificent endless beaches, from the city center to any of them are easily accessible on foot. Nearby is an underwater park, a place for deep-sea swimmers, and five 18-hole golf courses that are open to everyone. In the neighborhood of Montego Bay, there are old planters’ houses, where you can see how tropical crops are cultivated. Tourists also have the chance to visit a nature reserve and hand-feed exotic hummingbirds or ride a torchlit canoe down the river to the place where every summer, in July, the reggae festival gathers world-famous performers, and the nights pulsate to the rhythm of the fiery rhythms of music. The reggae festival lasts about a week,

NEGRIL

The resort is located in the western part of the island, 80 km from Montego Bay Airport. The strip of picturesque beaches stretches for almost 10 km. This is one of the most environmentally friendly resorts in the world – there is not a single industrial enterprise around, the buildings here should not be higher than the tops of the trees, and the locals are making quite active efforts to protect the environment. Negril is a very popular tourist area in Jamaica. The first tourists here in the early 70s of the last century were American hippies. The hippies were followed by other, most diverse tourists, and the construction of luxury hotels began. Since then, Negril has come a long way from a modest beach where “savages” lived, to a modern, highly developed resort.
Negril is divided into two tourist areas. One of them is Seven Mile Beach. The hotels here are on the sandy beach. This place is ideal for families with children, as well as the cultural and nightlife of Negril. The second zone is the so-called West End. Here the hotels are located on stone cliffs. Since the bottom in this area is rocky, this place is not suitable for families with children, but is very popular with fans of extreme entertainment, such as jumping into the water from cliffs and rocks. Negril is considered the best diving resort on the island. For lovers of nightlife, there are dozens of establishments for every taste – from the world-famous Disco nightclub at the Hedonism II hotel to small cozy discos arranged right on the seashore, where you can take off your shoes and dance reggae right on the sand.

OCHO RIOS

Ocho Rios is located 108 km east of Montego Bay, located in a lowland, behind which green hills extend, and the hollow itself opens to a wide Turtle Beach on the shore of a bay protected by reefs. Translated from Spanish, its name means “eight rivers”, but many researchers believe that this is simply a distorted name of Las Chorreras (waterfalls), since in this area it is the waterfalls that are the main local attraction.
The local regions are famous primarily for their luxurious vegetation – nowhere else on the island can one find such dense thickets of hibiscus, poinsettia and other tropical plants. Ocho Rios was a quiet fishing village until the middle of the last century, when the governor of the island found money to develop this place and turn it into a major tourist center. Once the port of Ocho Rios was used for the export of local bananas, now luxury cruise liners arrive here. The resort consists of a chain of beaches, coves, capes, small seaside old towns and fishing villages and is bordered by majestic mountains. Here are the famous Dunns River Falls (about 180 m high) and Fern Valley, Columbus Park, the River Garden and the Coyaba River Museum.
Here you can choose any accommodation option depending on taste and budget, go in for water sports and tennis, and Chukka Cove has the best conditions for equestrian sports in the Caribbean. Diving is possible in the coastal waters of Ocho Rios. The most interesting place for diving is located near the coast. An old minesweeper was once specially flooded here, in which corals, sponges and fish now comfortably live. The resort also houses an art gallery, golf clubs, cozy coastal restaurants and incendiary discos.

Runaway bay

Runaway Bay is a 20-minute drive from Ocho Rios. Since large complexes and groups of small cozy hotels began to be built at this resort, it began to be positioned separately from the resort area of Ocho Rios. Greater privacy and more beautiful white sand beaches also contributed to this. The resort is recommended primarily for those who wish to avoid crowds of tourists and intrusive traders.
