And nature, the underwater world, beaches and ultra comfortable hotels will give a real delight even to tourists who have seen the world! Not to mention extreme entertainment, the world’s largest water parks and unusual restaurants. What else do you need to know about the United Arab Emirates?

The seven Arab states that make up the United Emirates are located in South Asia along the east of the Arabian Peninsula. According to thesciencetutor, the country borders on Saudi Arabia and Oman.

UAE: capital.

The capital of the Emirates is the metropolis of Abu Dhabi with a population of just under a million. The capital perfectly merges active life and ancient traditions of the East, huge skyscrapers and beautiful city parks, mosques and temples. In addition to sightseeing tours, you should definitely leave time for shopping (almost all the famous brand stores in the world are represented in shopping centers) and for cozy restaurants with hookahs!

UAE: language.

The official language in the UAE is Arabic. In addition, most of the residents speak English. Not infrequently, hotel staff and guides, in addition to English, also speak Russian.

UAE: visa.

A visa to the UAE for residents of our country is required. You can apply for it through the visa center by preparing a number of documents, or by submitting documents to a tour operator who will take care of organizing the visa. It usually takes place within five business days. If the tour does not exceed a period of 30 days, the cost of a visa to the UAE for Ukrainians is US$70. There is also a transit visa – valid for 4 days, cost $ 40.

UAE: features of customs control.

The import of no more than 200 cigarettes, 40 cigars and no more than 2 liters of alcoholic beverages is allowed into the country. Other things, such as cosmetics, perfumes and medicines (in packages) – in the quantities necessary for use during the trip. Amounts over $27,000 (100,000 local currency) must be declared. UAE customs regulations prohibit the import of erotic and offensive to Muslim photos and videos, as well as drugs and drug-containing drugs (especially without a doctor’s prescription certified in English). On the plane, it is also not recommended to carry liquids in hand luggage (restrictions – 1 liter, packaged in 100 ml, in a transparent bag).

UAE: climate and seasonality.

The country can be described as quite hot, especially in summer, when the temperature reaches +40 degrees, and in the waters of the bays about +30-32 degrees. The most comfortable climate for tourists in the UAE is in late autumn, winter and spring until early May. In autumn, the ideal option is November, when you should expect +30 degrees during the day. In winter , the weather in the UAE averages from +20 to +26, and in March and April about +28 – +33.

UAE: tips.

Often tips are included in the bill, but if not, then it is worth leaving an additional 10%.

UAE: electrical network.

The voltage in the network is 220 and 240, the connector in the sockets is 3-input. Therefore, it is worth purchasing a special adapter if you are carrying equipment with European-style connectors. You can also borrow an adapter from the hotel reception.

UAE: clothing etiquette.

When preparing for a trip to the Emirates, it is worth considering that the religion of the UAE is Islam. It is not necessary to wear a burqa, but still, for respect, you should take modest clothes with you.

It is not recommended to appear in public places in short clothes, with bare shoulders or stomach, in transparent and / or tight clothes. It is better to wear skirts and shorts below the knee, and t-shirts and shirts with closed shoulders. If possible, opt for clothes that are not brightly colored.

In Ramadan, the main holiday in the UAE, it is better to wear clothes that are as long as possible and hide the body so as not to affect the feelings of Muslims.

These rules do not apply to beaches – here you can safely wear swimsuits and beach short clothes.

UAE: official holidays.

On the night of January 1, the New Year is celebrated in the UAE, as in most countries of the world. But there is also the Muslim New Year, which is celebrated, but almost without celebrations and noisy events. It falls on different dates and is shifted by 11 days every year. Thus, the Muslim New Year 2016 (Hijri New Year) falls on October 3, and 2017 on September 22.

A big holiday is also the National Day of the UAE, the day of independence and the unification of the states – it is magnificently celebrated on December 2.

One of the most revered holidays is the holy Ramadan, which lasts about a month. At this time, local residents adhering to Islam keep a strict fast during daylight hours. Therefore, you can even find closed shops, shops and shopping centers (until the evening, then work resumes and boils until night). The date of Ramadan is also postponed: in 2016 it will last from June 6 to July 5, and in 2017 from May 27 to June 25.
